Hi, this is Ahmad, well because of some obligations I had, I am very much behind schedule. Actually it seems that the challenge is quite overwhelming. However if I am totally free, I think I can hit the 40 Kanji target.
What do you suggest everybody to modify the challenge, any ideas?
Make the challenge more difficult. That is my suggestion.
ReplyDeleteKeith, how many kanji have you finished so far?
ReplyDeleteI suggest that we extend the challenge to 2 more months.
just keep on doing something every day. When i had trouble, i tried changing my sounces of characters and my methods a bit. keep it non-boring. just keep it moving.

I tend to agree, it's a very good idea, like if you want to learn how a car works make one haha, well it doesn't have to be that difficult, but in languages it sounds like a good feasible idea.
ReplyDeleteBut let me expand on it a bit, let's say I want to study Chinese, so I find an interesting book that I want to read in Chinese, then start decoding each sentence from scratch, and thus learning kanji and grammar along the way.
But this will mean that I may learn complex rules and characters before the more simple ones, well that method needs some thinking.
Perhaps we can come up with a hybrid system, like whenever I encounter a new sentence structure or a new complex character I may also study the simpler ones leading to it.
Hey Ahmad, you should use Skype more often. I never see you on Skype. I'm always on Skype, you know.
